    • Fosters will need to complete Foster Contract and comply with all C2CND contracts
  • Crate Training

  • PetSmart Attendance
    • Dogs that do not attend adoption events take longer to be adopted out, so exposure is very important! If you are not able to attend PetSmart adoption event then please let us know so we may coordinate a handler for you during these events

    • From time to time other adoption events are held so we may give the pet as much exposure to potential adopters.
  • Attendance
    • We would love for you to join us at all PetSmart and other adoption events but understand that this is not always possible. Your attendance is NOT mandatory, but the fosters is.

Foster Home/ Parent Requirements:

Safe, Loving and Caring Environment

Providing a safe and caring environment for fosters indoors is required. A safe environment also includes ensuring Family pets are kept current on vaccinations and preventative. Fosters agree to clean, feed, and interact with rescue kitties daily and communicate all health concerns.

Provide a Separate Living Space for Fosters

Fosters are not family members. To ensure family pets don’t experience stress it is best to have a separate space for fosters. It is okay to integrate Fosters into the home but it will take time. It is essential there by a separate space. We do not have a shelter, all animals are pulled for the foster homes we have. We are not able to remove animals immediately. Having a separate space prevents stress to family pets, rescue kitties and foster parents. Spare bedrooms and large bathroom are excellent locations.

Transportation to Adoption Events

Events are Saturday’s 10:30-3:30. You are notified weekly if your fosters are shown.

Reviewing Weekly Rescue Communications

Foster Emails are sent out once a week to communicate updates. We also submit needs and requests through online tools.

Foster Program Guidelines/ Policies:

  • Intake of animals is determined by management.
  • Fosters may not adopt out/ move rescues from their home.
  • Fosters are to communicate medical concerns immediately and may not medicate rescues without consent from management
  • If a Foster chooses to take an animal for Medical Treatment without consent they are liable for payment. Payment will not be reimbursed.
  • Baby Kittens are fostered by Veteran Foster’s Only
    • Baby Kittens require a lot of attention and suffer from various medical complications. It is for the safety of the kittens that they are only placed with veterans.
  • Kittens are determined by age 12 weeks to 1 month
  • Management matches rescue kitties to foster homes based on the home environment and the needs of the rescue. Fosters may not choose the rescue kitties they would like to foster. We do take into consideration preferences when making decisions.
  • Adult Cats are the only rescues placed in single-kitty homes.
    • This is for the health and development of the rescues.
  • When a rescue kitty is adopted from a foster home rescue kitties may be swapped/ moved based on current needs.
    • We rescue from High Kill Shelters. We move and fill spaces in order to save lives.
  • We are only in need of long-term Fosters
    • We ask fosters to provide 30 day notice if they will no longer be able to foster moving forward. This is asked because we do not have a shelter and we pull based on the number of spots we have in foster homes.
  • Fosters are required to inform the rescue if they are traveling and are unable to care for their rescues.
    • Without a shelter we need advanced notice to make arrangements for the rescues.
