Fostering a Pet Saves Lives!
Become a Foster
What is pet fostering? Quite simply, it means taking care of an animal that needs help. Fostering an animal is one of the most rewarding ways to volunteer. Fostering helps our animals learn to become part of a family. We encourage our fosters to start teaching our animals how to be good canine and felines citizens. This includes crate training, basic obedience, litter box training, staying off counters, and sometimes it can include just teaching them to trust humans again.
Some of our animals have started out life in rough and sometimes tragic situation. We want to teach them that not all humans are bad; that most of us want them to be part of our families. They learn this through being with and interacting with your family. Take cues from them, treat them like you’d treat your own animal and they will reward you with an unconditional love that is hard to duplicate.
So go ahead and take the plunge! Fostering a pet is not a lifetime commitment; it’s a commitment to save a life.
